Explore oil painting fundamentals including glazing, direct painting (alla prima), indirect painting, scumbling, dry brush, squeegeeing, stenciling, and other approaches to oil paint application. Work from life and from source material, focusing on planning and developing unique compositions across multiple sessions. Discover contemporary artists and old masters by utilizing many of the same techniques, and gain a working knowledge of the age old medium.

All levels of experience with oil painting are welcome, including beginners. Students will be asked to purchase some supplies, including brushes, palette, and canvas.
