Begin with lessons in Observational Drawing, and apply those skills while learning Watercolor techniques!

First, go beyond the fundamentals of drawing and hone your drawing skills. For beginners, intermediates looking to build skills, or those who haven’t drawn in a while, how to draw what you see. Exercises introduced in the classroom will be taken to the street, as we will work with observational drawing in urban and botanical settings.

Then, an in-depth exploration of the materials and techniques of watercolor painting. Learn to use this powerful—but often intimidating—medium to create work in your own style.

If you already have watercolor paints, brushes, and/or paper, bring them to class—this way you can learn using what you already own. If you don't, basic materials will be available at the first session, with the expectation that students will procure their own supplies by the second session.

Suitable for all levels, no prior experience with drawing or watercolor is necessary!
